The most common request we get is how to take meter readings from your smart meter, the documents below can help with that; just search for your meter model number or the supplier that installed your meter originally.
Hint: When looking at an electricity smart meter it can be confusing to see two model numbers. In fact, the communications hub module is placed on top of the electricity meter so you can see a model number on the top for the communications hub and a model number on the bottom for the electricity meter.

Lost your In Home Display Guide? - Most guides are listed below, but which one? Unfortunately, suppliers don't often say in their guides what IHD models they are referring to, so try these methods to find the right guide for you:
- Enter the IHD model name below and all guides for that model will be listed, or
- Enter the Energy Supplier's name in the box below and all their guides will be listed, or
- Enter "IHD" and a list of IHD manuals will appear for you to browse.
Geo - If you require help with a Geo product, we should point out that Geo have provided a great document covering all of their devices. It's also available in the document listing below.
Names Changing on Company Takeovers
Some meter manufacturer's names have changed due to company takeovers which could be confusing when you are looking for help with your meter. Here are the changes:
- PRI acquired Horstmann on 13 December 2007
- PRI rebranded as Secure on 28 June 2010
- Aclara acquired GE Grid Solutions Electricity Meter Business on 21 December 2015
- Honeywell acquired Elster on 6 January 2016
- Hubbell acquired Aclara Technologies LLC on 5 February 2018
- Horstmann brand changed to Secure on 1 November 2020.
